✓ Turn Off Power and Water Supply: Begin by turning off the power source (electricity or gas) and shutting off the water supply to the heater.
✓ Install Isolation Valves: If not already installed, attach isolation valves to the water lines to make future maintenance easier.
✓ Prepare Flushing Solution: Fill a bucket with a descaling solution through the heater for about 45 minutes to an hour. This helps remove mineral deposits and scale buildup.
✓ Rinse with Clean Water: After flushing with descaling solution, rinse the system with clean water from the house supply to remove any remaining vinegar or descaling solution.
✓ Clean Inlet Filter: Remove and clean the inlet filter to ensure proper water flow and prevent clogs.
✓ Reassemble and Test: Reassemble the unit, turn on the power and water supply, and check for any leaks.
✓ Inspect and Clean Other Components: Clean the fan and air intake/exhaust filters to prevent dirt and bugs from entering the unit.
✓ Final Check: Ensure everything is functioning properly and there are no leaks or unusual noises.

✓ Turn Off Power and Gas Supply: Begin by turning off the power source and shutting off the gas supply to the boiler.
✓ Check and Clean the Flue: Inspect the flue for any blockages or debris and clean it to ensure proper ventilation. Remove burner from heat exchanger and cleanout heat exchanger with specialty tools. Flush heat exchanger with clean water. Remove condensate trap and clean out any debris. Check flame sense signal and clean flame sensor.

✓ Test the System: Reassemble the unit, turn on the power and gas supply, and run the boiler to check for any leaks or unusual noises.
